Horrifying riots

In reference to Rita S. Kalibonso's letter of June 5, our eyes have been widely opened to the naked truth. No doubt the horrifying riots were conducted by well-organized and trained people, just like in a war!

The painful result is that people have not only lost their houses or shops, but also their loved ones. Outrageously, some women were sexually abused and even worse, some were inhumanely raped by irresponsible barbarians.

It is even more tragic to learn of the suicide of some of the victims and those threatened with such treatment. Those who did survive are suffering from such trauma that they are unable to communicate.

We will never be able to turn the clock back to before the rampage, and we have to hope that our military police and the army will be able to regroup and accept the challenge to act honorably and defend the innocent and helpless citizens of this country.

Ms. Rita's offer for free consultation aside, I suggest that we try to raise some funds for the rape victims to help ease their burden and to show that we CARE!!
