Horned man may exist

LARANTUKA, East Nusa Tenggara: A team of archeologists from the regency's Tourist Office and Yogyakarta's Gadjah Mada University are examining a fossil of a horned man they found in the Lembata island village of Kadang.

Head of the tourist office, Johanes Kia, said Tuesday the team had also discovered a tomb believed to belong to legendary Prime Minister of Majapahit Kingdom Gajah Mada in Labao village, 50 kilometers east of here.

Kia said the local government would announce the outcome of the examination.

He said the findings were a part of the local government's scientific efforts to discover more tourist objects. The regency has worked together with the Bandung Institute of Tourism over the past two months to build Lewoleba and Hading Capes on Lembata island as tourist resorts. (yac)
