Honda to recall over 380,000 cars
TOKYO: Japan's Honda Motor Co. Ltd. plans to recall more than 380,000 sedans due to seat belt failures and defects in the cabin light, the government said Thursday.
The planned recall across Japan will cover a total of 382,152 units of Honda's Life model sedans produced between February 1999 and January 2002, the land, infrastructure and transport ministry said.
Honda will change defective parts of seat belts and the cabin light free of charge, the ministry said, adding that there had been no reports of accidents as a result of the fault.
Meanwhile, Mazda Motor Corp. also filed a recall application with the ministry, reporting that it would recall 55,458 recreational vehicles produced between 1995 and 2001 due to defective shaft parts, the ministry said. -- AFP
