Homeless man indicted for murder

JAKARTA (JP): A state prosecutor indicted a homeless man yesterday at the Central Jakarta District Court for a murder in the Pejompongan area, Central Jakarta, last December.

Prosecutor Rudy Yulianto accused 26-year-old Waimin, alias Sunarto, of killing Faisal, alias Soni, by beating him on the head with a concrete block.

Rudy cited revenge as the motive for the alleged murder.

Article 338 of the Criminal Code, under which the defendant is charged, sets a maximum of 15 years imprisonment for murder.

The trial was adjourned until next week. (12)
