Home alone girl molested

JAKARTA (JP): A seven-year-old girl, who was left home alone by her parents, was molested by a visitor Sunday, a South Jakarta police officer said.

Her mother, who took the girl for a thorough check up at Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital yesterday, confirmed the police story.

She said she had left her daughter, a second-year elementary school student, at their home in Kebayoran Baru because she had some business to attend to while her husband was working as a public bus driver.

A man arrived at the house claiming to be a friend of the family and told the girl he was looking for her father.

She invited him in after telling him her parents were out.

The man took advantage of the situation and molested her, the mother said.

The girl told her mother what had happened when she returned. They reported the incident to the South Jakarta Police. (04)
