Holiday turned nightmare

On Aug. 13, 1999 we went from Venice to Geneva via Amsterdam on a KLM flight, number 1650, leaving Venice at 6:55 a.m., continued by another KLM flight, number 1929. To our surprise we lost our luggage for the second time (we also lost our luggage using other airlines on Aug. 9). When the staff at the baggage tracing department checked the luggage, it was found, to my great surprise, that our luggage was mistakenly sent to Bologne instead of Geneva. I had the impression that those people must be careless. I checked the destination tag attached to our luggage after we got them back, it was clearly written on it that the luggage should go from Venice to Geneva via Amsterdam.

To make the story short, we did receive the luggage, but the tip of the zipper was broken. The KLM staff in Geneva airport reimbursed me Sfr200 for all the expenses we had paid before.

The money did not really matter to me -- but who was going to reimburse us for our holiday that was supposed to be relaxing, from turning into a nightmare.
