Hiss not communist

As an engineer interested in facts, Mr. Wolvesperges should be informed that Alger Hiss was never convicted of being a Communist. Being a Communist was not then and is not now against the law in the United States. Hiss was convicted of perjury for testifying in 1950 he did not know Whittier Chambers. In fact, Hiss had met Chambers in 1938 when he sold Chambers his Smith- Corona typewriter. It was on this basis that Hiss was sent to prison.

As Mr. Wolvesperges is interested in facts, he knows or should know that Chambers was in Richard Nixon's employment and used the Smith-Corona to fabricate evidence of Hiss' espionage. This charge did not stand up in a court of law.
