Highways or graveyards?

From Neraca

As a motorcyclist, I often get infuriated at the sight of the animal cadavers I usually come across on my way. Speeding past, I quickly leave the stench of decomposing carcasses behind. However, the sight of these dead animals, is disgusting. Dead rats, cats, dogs, and chickens are a common sight along city streets.

These rotting carcasses are injurious to human health. Harmful bacteria could spread easily in the dusty air stirred up by passing cars and motorcycles.

Admittedly, in a city as crowded as Jakarta, it is difficult to find land to bury the dead. But, this should not be a reason to make highways and roads a burial place for dead animals.

I would like to call on the authorities to do something about this problem, and to not leave dead animals decomposing in the open air.
