High winds damage terminal

BOGOR: High winds blew the roof of the Bubulak public minivan terminal, injuring two people and damaging eight minivans.

The terminal's director Prihatno said that the high winds started blowing from the west at about 5 p.m. on Thursday. Heavy rain had been falling since 3 p.m.

Dozens of passengers who were taking shelter in the terminal from the rain fled in panic when they saw that the roof was beginning to lift of its stays.

Commenting on the incident, Bogor councillor Berlin Haryanto Purba said it was due to the shoddy construction of the terminal, and demanded that the builder of the terminal be held responsible. -- JP
