High school seniors 'kidnap' juniors

BOGOR: Four third-year students of SMUN 7 state high school in
Bogor allegedly kidnapped a junior after a final examination on
Friday afternoon.

The junior, Vanya Meri Adam, was abducted in front of the
school and was forced to get into a Toyota Kijang van at around
4:20 p.m. The seniors -- Neng Istika, Mela, Dea and Ica -- threw
a sandal at Vanya's face and threatened her with a hairpin not to
tell anyone about what had happened.

The victim was intimidated before being released a kilometer
from the school.

Vanya's parents reported the kidnapping to Bogor Police.

The four seniors apparently abducted Intan Lestari on Dec. 30
but her parents only reported the case later on Friday, after
they had heard what had happened to Vanya.

Intan was also abducted after school. Inside the car, the
seniors grabbed her hair and beat her head. They also threatened
her with a hairpin. Intan was driven around Bogor city for four
hours before being released in Ceger.

From both victims reports, police immediately questioned the
four seniors. Mela told police investigators that they only
wanted to give a lesson to the juniors.

"We didn't really kidnap them. We just want to frightened
them," she said, as quoted by Tempointeraktif. -- JP
