Herbal medicine exhibition at Unpad

"No pain, no gain", is probably apt for those consuming the bitter-tasting jamu (traditional herbal medicine). But more and more people, including scientists and doctors, are paying serious attention to jamu.

In commemoration of its 48th anniversary, Bandung-based Padjadjaran University will hold the Jamu International Exhibition from Aug. 13 to Aug. 22.

The exhibition, which will be co-organized by Leiden University, the University of Singapore and the Martha Tilaar Foundation, is open to the public.

A book by Martha Tilaar and L.J. Slikerver, Medicinal Plants for Health and Conservation in Indonesia, is also set to be launched during the exhibition.
