Healthy Village 2003 program
JAKARTA (JP): Cisalak village in West Java has been chosen as a model for the Healthy Village 2003 program by PT Roche Indonesia.
Under the program, villagers will be taught how to adopt healthy lifestyles.
In its statement, PT Roche Indonesia said the company and its partners would be actively involved in introducing healthy habits in the "foster village" over the next two to three years.
The program was officially launched by Minister of Health and Social Welfare Achmad Sujudi last week.
Among the projects to be carried out at Cisalak village is the eradication of the Aedes mosquito, which causes dengue fever. Various campaigns to promote hygiene and prevent diseases by maintaining sanitary conditions will also be conducted.
A sanitation center and nutrition corner will also be established.
