Health, women's groups cooperate
JAKARTA (JP): Soroptimist International of Jakarta is meeting
today to discuss "Supporting Community Participation Programs of
the Ministry of Health".
Especially invited guests from health organizations and
international women's groups will be attending the meeting at
Puri Ayu Martha Tilaar in the Indo Rama Building.
This presentation on how to assist existing health programs is
among the many social welfare activities carried out by Jakarta
Soroptomists International, a branch of the world's largest
women's community service organization, Soroptomist
International.
Soroptomist International of Jakarta was chartered in 1992, by
25 founding members from various professional backgrounds, as a
part of the international organization which has over 100,000
members in 111 countries worldwide.
The Jakarta branch assists in community programs in six
sectors. It is active in promoting and supporting economic and
social development, education, the environment, health, human
rights and status of women, as well as international goodwill and
understanding.
