Haze cancels flights

JAKARTA (JP): PT Merpati Nusantara Airlines has announced the cancellation of flights for several routes due to the haze which has descended over many cities in Kalimantan and the southern part of Sumatra.

Airline spokesman Benny Achmad said on Monday that the cancellation, from Sept. 26 to 30, covers two-way traffic on the Pontianak-Jakarta, Batam-Pontianak, Batam-Pontianak-Balikpapan, Pontianak-Batam, Singapore-Pontianak-Balikpapan, Singapore- Pontianak-Batam, Jakarta-Jambi, Batam-Jambi, Palangkaraya- Banjarmasin and Jakarta-Palangkaraya routes.
