Hasjim's trial postponed
JAKARTA: The Central Jakarta District Court failed to begin the trial of businessman Hasjim Djojohadikusumo on Thursday because his ailing codefendant failed to appear at the hearing.
Hasjim, the former president commissioner of PT Bank Industri, and Oemarjoedi, the bank's former president director, have been charged with violating banking law No. 7/1992.
Bank Industri allegedly violated the legal lending limit without notifying the central bank, causing the state to suffer Rp 4 billion (US$400,000) in losses.
Hasjim is the younger brother of former president Soeharto's son-in-law Prabowo Subianto. -- JP
