Hashish seized in Medan

MEDAN, North Sumatra: Police seized on Sunday 14 kilograms of
dried hashish and arrested the owner -- the head of a
neighborhood in Sei Kera village, Perjuangan subdistrict, Antara
reported yesterday.

North Sumatra Police spokesman Lt. Col. Amrin Karim said
yesterday that Su alias Mo, 46, was caught carrying packets of
hashish in his car. He claimed the hashish belonged to three
friends and that he was going to send it to Jakarta, where 1 kg
of hashish could fetch Rp 1.7 million (about US$567), Karim said.

Police are now searching for Su's three friends, Karim added.
