Harmoni traffic rerouted

JAKARTA: To make room for the construction of a busway stop in Harmoni, the City Transportation Agency will reroute traffic on Jl. Gajah Mada in Central Jakarta and Jl. Hayam Wuruk in West Jakarta, beginning on Tuesday.

Agency head Rustam Effendi said the construction work would take over part of the street, Tempointeraktif.com reported on Tuesday.

Traffic coming from the south (Jl. Majapahit) and west (Jl. Suryo Pranoto/Tomang) will be rerouted to Jl. H. Juanda, Jl. Gunung Sahari, Jl. Mangga Besar and Jl. Gajah Mada.

Vehicles coming from the east (Jl. Veteran) will be directed to Jl. Suryopranoto, Jl. Balikpapan or Jl. Cideng Timur, before turning onto Jl. Cideng Barat, Jl. Zainal Arifin or Jl.Gajah Mada.

Vehicles coming from the north will be rerouted to Jl. Mangga Besar, Jl. Gunung Sahari, Jl. Dr. Sutomo, Jl. Lapangan Banteng Utara and Jl. Veteran.

During construction, the busway's Harmoni stop will be closed and passengers will be able to exit at the Monas or Sawah Besar stops. -- JP
