Hanshin opens outlet here

JAKARTA (JP): Japan's Hanshin Department Store will open a retail outlet in Plaza Senayan next year under a franchise agreement with PT Inti Fasindo Internasional, a subsidiary of Great River International.

Great River, a company listed on the Jakarta Stock Exchange announced yesterday that its subsidiary will also receive technical assistance from the Osaka-based department store chain.

Great River's Hanshin Department Store, with an area of 25,000 square meters, will be one of the largest retailers in Plaza Senayan.

The total investment for the store will be around Rp 100 billion (US$42.73 million), the company said. The store, which is now under construction, is scheduled to be in operation by the end of 1997. (hen)
