Hansaplast Cares donates library

JAKARTA (JP): PT Beiersdorf Indonesia (BDF), through its Hansaplast Cares Program, has donated a library building and equipment worth Rp 120 million (US$14,118) to Kampus Diakonia Modern Foundation in Cileungsi, Bogor.

The company, a German-Indonesian joint venture that produces health care products such as Hansaplast strip plaster and Nivea, said in a press release on Friday that Kampus Diakonia Modern Foundation, which was founded in 1972, is a charity dedicated to helping and educating street and abandoned children.

"With the library, we hope the road toward improving the quality of knowledge among street children will be enhanced even more," said Jurgen Rohlfshagen, president director of PT Beiersdorf Indonesia.

The company said the donation was part of its annual social program.

Last year, it also donated an educational center building worth Rp 100 million to SOS Kinderdorf foundation in Cibubur, East Jakarta.
