Hancock opens sales center
JAKARTA (JP): Joint-venture life insurance company PT Asuransi Jiwa Bersama Bumiputera John Hancock opened a new sales and service center yesterday at Wisma Bisnis Indonesia, West Jakarta.
Derek Chilvers, president and chief executive officer of John Hancock International Holdings, the international arm of U.S.- based John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance, said the new office, the joint venture's third, was proof of the company's strong commitment to Indonesia.
"This new sales and service center symbolizes our continued investment in Indonesia, and our undeterred plans for growth. Our company is planning for further expansion in Indonesia as we strengthen our presence in Jakarta and begin to develop other cities," Chilvers said.
Bumiputera John Hancock was established in 1987 and is 20 percent owned by PT Asuransi Jiwa Bersama Bumiputera 1912, Indonesia's oldest life insurer, and 80 percent by U.S.-based John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company, which has over US$110 billion in assets. (gis)
