Half of officials suffer heart disease

UJUNGPANDANG, South Sulawesi: Over half of the officials working at the city administration are said to be suffering from heart disease.

Ujungpandang mayor HA Malik B Masry said after a medical checkup conducted by the provincial branch of the Indonesian Heart Foundation, that 55 percent of city officials were subject to the disease.

The mayor called on everyone to heed the warning and take precautionary measures.

"It can be overcome if we have a good work ethos," said Masry as quoted by Antara. (mds)
