Half a kilo of 'shabu-shabu' seized

JAKARTA (JP): City police arrested a man on Thursday for
possession of 520.5 grams of shabu-shabu (crystal
methamphetamine) and 734 ecstasy pills -- all worth some Rp 150
million on the streets -- an officer said.

Tambora Police Subprecinct Chief Sr. Insp. Merdysy said that
Ang Erwin, alias Erwin, was arrested at popular amusement park
Lokasari in West Jakarta following the arrest of four men a day
earlier in a routine night raid.

The first three men, identified as Hamzah Mustafa, Gais Afshor
and Ohan Burhanuddin, were apprehended while driving a car on Jl.
Kopi Raya. After a brief check, the police found several grams of
shabu-shabu from the three which they kept in an instant noodle
package, officer Merdysy said.

Based on their tip-off, the fourth suspect, Sugiyanto, was
then arrested at the Lokasari parking lot.

Sugiyanto admitted he got the drug, currently popular among
teenagers, from his boss, Erwin.

The officers then arranged a fake deal between the two at the
Lokasari parking area where they later arrested Erwin, who then
showed his drugs at his house in West Jakarta. (asa)
