Hairy pizza at Pizza Hut

How offputting is it to find strands of human hair in a piece of pan pizza? And should one consider what other possible alien items might have been mixed in with it? Importantly, is sanitation in general and the quality of food served to the public in particular significant in today's fast-food rivalry? How is the public protected against health hazards?

On Aug. 28, 2002, I had lunch at Pizza Hut Pasar Grande, Gedung Pasaraya, Blok M Lantai Dasar, and ordered, among other things, a meat-lover's pan pizza. Just as I was about to finish the first slice, I noticed something strange and finally, to my horror, found strands of human hair entangled with the thick, melted cheese. I ask the waiter to summon the duty manager to complain about it. With an apology, they returned the pan pizza to the kitchen.

I had ordered other things and wanted to settle the bill. Having suffered hunger pangs caused by the incident, the worst part was that I had to pay for the entire meal, which really added insult to injury.

There must be other clients who have suffered in silence. This concerns service to the public. Pasaraya management and health officials must take note of this incident and protect the public.
