Habitat care festival at BSD
TANGERANG: The German International School in Bumi Serpong Damai housing estate held a one-day environmental festival, at which 18 school teachers from private and state schools in and around the complex took part.
The festival is aimed at transferring knowledge about the environment to the participants, BSD spokesman Dhony Rahajoe said.
Meanwhile, Gunter Ott, an Austrian environmental expert who had earlier trained the teachers, said that they were expected to transfer their knowledge on activities to ensure a clean and comfortable environment to their students and the students then share the knowledge with their parents.
The festival activities also featured an art workshop to express students' ideas, feelings, action and awareness about the environment.
Besides that, examples of educational achievements by students in classes, such as processing salty water by using solar power, were also displayed. -- JP
