Habibie-Wiranto duet

I deplore Habibie's statement to the effect that ethnicity is
one of the reasons for choosing Wiranto as his running mate in
the next presidential elections. Such a narrow-minded statement
will certainly cause Indonesia -- a multiethnic nation -- to
disintegrate further.

With the multiple crises still affecting the country, the
people would like to have a president who will proudly call
him/herself as an Indonesian with a credible track record,
trusted and respected by the people to lead the country.

Pak Wiranto, with all due respect, please remain consistent to
your goal, i.e. to reform the Indonesian Military (TNI) and the
Police, to become a guardian of the country, instead of being a
tool of the government.
