Gymnasts departure to Romania delayed

JAKARTA: The Romanian's winter training break will prompt a rescheduling of the Indonesian gymnasts' planned departure for a two-year training program in Romania, according to the Indonesian Gymnastics Association (Persani).

Persani will be sending ten gymnasts, but they will now depart in February instead of the previous plan of this month.

"We have to postpone the departure because there will be no training in Romania during their winter holiday break," Persani's secretary-general Asep Sulaeman said on Tuesday.

The new plan was decided upon after Persani sent an advanced team, comprised of two coaches and an official from the National Sports Council (KONI), to Romania with the task of carrying out a preliminary survey for the training program. -- JP
