Guesswhat? Marini Soerjosoemarno
Singer-actress Marini Soerjosoemarno is helping out her
daughter Shelomita Sulistiany who recently gave birth to a baby
boy.
The 54-year-old said that she was glad to take care of her
second grandchild while Shelomita, also a singer, was performing.
"Although Mita (Shelomita's nickname) and I are busy, we try
to take care of the baby without any help from a babysitter.
Being a mother is a new experience for Shelomita. I help her when
she seems confused about what she has to do with the baby," said
Marini, who divorced her third husband, musician Idris Sardi, a
couple of years ago.
Born of Javanese father Kanjeng Raden Mas Arjo Soetarjo
Soerjosoemarno and Dutch mother Dolly Zegerius, Marini
said she would stand behind her daughter and let her decide the
best choice for her career. "I just give my experiences to her
and she has to be herself," she said.
"If I have plenty of time, I always come to her shows to give
moral support. I also give her criticism about her recent
performances so her performance in the next shows will be
better." (Sri Ramadani)
