Guess What? Widodo

Despite his long service in the military, Indonesian Military (TNI) chief Adm. Widodo A.S. gave his "first blood" at the Army's Special Force (Kopassus) headquarters in Cijantung, East Jakarta, on Tuesday.

Of course, Widodo was not doing his best Rambo impression. He was there to take part in a blood donation held by TNI headquarters as part of its commemoration of its 56th anniversary on Oct. 5.

Widodo lay down and surrendered to the stab of the needle. Lying beside him also giving him a donation was the Army Chief of Staff Gen. Endriartono Sutarto.

"Uuhh, I've got a little headache," Widodo said, smiling and shaking his head. The 57-year-old Naval officer later handed over an empty blood-donor card to a nurse from the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI).

But maybe he will think twice before his next good deed.

"Ooh, no, no, wait a minute. I must take a rest for a while before answering your questions," he told waiting reporters, leaving the room looking pale and with a shakey walk. (Tiarma Siboro)
