Guess What? Tantowi Yahya

His popularity as presenter is hard to deny. But Tantowi Yahya is not a person who is easily satisfied.

His company Ceepee Productions, which handles cassette distribution and event production, is progressing rapidly thanks to his business sense. The company was trusted to organize the Indonesian Music Awards and the Panasonic Awards.

Now, after reading Tim Whitsett's The Dictionary of Music Business Terms, the Palembang native has found a way to provide information to those working in the music and entertainment businesses.

"This book is really good. You can find any term here. But I'm amazed music organizations or institutions like ASIRI ( the Recording Industry Association) aren't yet included, while others can already be found here," said Tantowi of the book that he bought in Singapore for S$70, or around Rp 300,000.

After suggestions from friends, he is planning to publish a translation of the book and to add some Indonesian musical terms as well.

"Why not? Many people need this book, including entertainment journalists. Frankly, I really need this book myself," he said.

"This is important to make Indonesian musical terms known in other countries."

But he can't rush to make his wish come true, because he still hasn't contacted the book's author and publisher. (Endi Aras)
