Guess What? Sherina Munaf

Her first album might have sold over 300,000 copies and her newly released album has already sold for more than 60,000, but top child singer Sherina Munaf is still an ordinary kid who doesn't really care about money.

Every day, the girl only asks her mother for Rp 3,500 pocket money. And what does she buy? "I spend it on fried chicken at school," the nine-year-old Sherina confessed.

Innocent as she is, the girl understands the prizes of her popularity.

"I'm tired ... but I'll do it for those who are buying my records," said the star of big screen movie Petualangan Sherina (The Adventures of Sherina) during an unscheduled appearance at Mega Mal Pluit signing records.

During the trip to the mall, which was part of marketing scheme to boost her record sales, Sherina was accompanied by her father Triawan Munaf, who left his job at Adwork Advertising to help his daughter's singing career

Her popularity has not made her parents turn a blind eye to the importance of her education. "It's not that we don't need money ... but we're not like that. After this (the second) album, Sherina will release a religious album and then it's up to her. We won't force her to be a singer."

Sherina is planning to stage a solo concert with the Addie MS' Twilite Orchestra. (Endi Aras)
