Guess What? Sherina

Entertainer Sherina, 11, may be of tender years, but she knows that violating intellectual copyrights is wrong. Especially when it comes to her VCD.

"My comment is the same as what my father just said but I just want to say, whoever wants to buy my VCDs, please do not buy any pirated VCDs," she said when she launched her new karaoke VCD on Tuesday in Jakarta.

Her reason? "Because mmm...pirating is not good," she said.

She quickly rattled off a more complete answer when the assembled reporters laughed at her comment.

"I mean that pirating is stealing. It is about morals. If friends buy the pirated VCDs, I won't get a profit and the people who have pirated my albums do not give their profits to me, so I will not be able to launch my next albums."

The star of the highly successful children's movie Petualangan Sherina is also old beyond her years when it comes to promotion, expertly telling what her two differently priced VCDs have to offer.

Does she like to take her turn at karaoke?

"I like karaoke but I just do it sometimes," she said, adding that she is occupied taking dancing lessons, playing the piano, studying and preparing her second film and third album this year. (Sri Ramadani)
