Guess What: Leo Kristi

The 50-year old ballad singer Leo Kristi is longing to hear the sweet music of his favorite duo Simon & Garfunkel.

With folk singer Franky Sahilatua, Leo is planing a concert called the Scarborough Fair Night, taken from one of Simon & Garfunkel's signature hits in the 1970s, Scarborough Fair.

"We're both fans of their music. I have complete collections of their albums," said Leo, who failed to stage his golden anniversary concert last year at Gedung Kesenian, Jakarta.

Leo, known for his distinguished songs and music, conceded he enjoys performing works of other artists' as long as the songs are good.

"I don't mind performing even a dangdut song if the lyrics are good and we know exactly how to sing it," said Leo whose real name is Leo Imam Sukarno.

He admitted that he and Franky have no idea how to raise funds to finance their concert. "We will probably ask Tika Bisono to join us. She has a good voice and good connections," Leo said.

It is hard to find promoters to back music concerts, especially during this economic crisis, he added.

He and Franky are promoting the Scarborough Fair concert by performing at local cafes. (Endi Aras)
