Guess What? Djaduk Ferianto

His numerous shows here and abroad do not necessarily make noted musician Djaduk Ferianto feel comfortable when starring in a big screen movie Petualangan Sherina (The Adventure of Sherina).

He took his role in the movie by mistake, and was horrified when he was asked to perform a Tango dance.

"I only know Jatilan or Reog (traditional) dances, not Tango. I only know Tango as food. I was surprised when I was asked to dance the Tango, especially after realizing that my dance partner was really beautiful, making me nervous. In the practice, when we have to hold hands, I couldn't breathe," confessed the humorous musician, who had to borrow his friend's shoes for the scene.

"Of course I was nervous. I usually associate with Javanese singers, not models. As a good husband, I did ask my wife's permission, though."

In the movie, which will be released on June 14, Djaduk plays a criminal. It turned up the role wasn't the one he originally wanted, which was disclosed by the film's director Riri Riza.

"Actually, only me and Djaduk know about this secret," Riri said. "Djaduk actually wanted the role of Sherina's father." (Endi Aras)
