Guards protest over suspension
Five security guards from PT Sucaco on Jl. Kebon Sirih, Central Jakarta, filed a complaint with the City Council over the suspension of their coordinator.
Dodi Kusnadi, the coordinator, was suspended one hour after he walked out of a meeting with the president director of the company.
Dodi told the City Council's Commission E, which is in charge of people's welfare, earlier this week that the problem began when the president director denied that she had offered two options of overtime hours to security officers.
"She denied our choice to work 134 hours of overtime every month and insisted on giving 130 hours per month," Dodi said.
He explained that previously the president director gave two options of overtime hours to the security guards: 130 hours and 134 hours and they chose 134 hours of overtime.
"But in the last meeting she refused to agree with us so I walked out of the meeting. One hour later I received the suspension letter," Dodi said.
He explained that every month they receive a salary of Rp 400,000 and additional Rp 400,000 for overtime work.
The city council said that they are going to summon the management of the company and also the company's chapter of All- Indonesia Workers Association. (yns)
