Guards accompany busway passengers

JAKARTA: Busway operator Transjakarta started assigning guards
on buses on Monday to ensure onboard security.

Company director Irzal Z Djamal said one guard would be
assigned to each bus from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 10
p.m.

"In between those hours, during peak hours, we will deploy two
guards," he was quoted as saying by the city's official news
portal Beritajakarta.com on Friday.

The operational director Rene Nunumete added that more guards
would be stationed at bus shelters and pedestrian bridges.

He added that the busway's lost-and-found depot was located at
the Blok M busway terminal. -- JP
