GSM-XL, BCA in cooperation

JAKARTA (JP): Cellular phone operator PT Excelcomindo Pratama, the operator of GSM-XL, announced on Wednesday that Pro-XL prepaid card subscribers now could refill their cards at Bank Central Asia's (BCA) 1,800 automated teller machines (ATMs) throughout the country.

The company's sales and marketing director, Kusnadi Sukarja, said the new service would be effective beginning April 5.

"Pro-XL subscribers only have to choose between two voucher transactions, namely the Rp 100,000 and Rp 300,000 transaction, at their BCA ATM. After the transaction, Pro-XL subscribers just dial 123 on their mobile phones and enter a 14-digit secret code they will find on their ATM transaction papers. The secret code is used to refill the pulses on their Pro-XL card," Kusnadi said.

He said prepaid cards had become increasingly popular because they allowed users to control their phone bills and also were more practical.

Pro-XL had over 150,000 subscribers as of March, he added. (gis)
