Group protests against newspaper

JAKARTA (JP): Dozens of anti-President Abdurrahman Wahid
protesters calling themselves the Anti Corruption People's Forum
(FRAKSI) visited the Harian Terbit daily evening newspaper office
in Pulogadung, East Jakarta, on Friday, to protest an erroneous
photo caption displayed on the front page of its Friday edition.

Arriving in several cars, the group protested the photo
caption which read: "... a group of Abdurrahman's supporters are
praying at the House of Representatives".

The group denied that they supported the President and
demanded the newspaper correct the caption in Saturday's edition.

"We have apologized and will make a correction. They lodged
their protest in a nonviolent way," Marhendra, an editor at the
daily, told The Jakarta Post.

Several police officers were on duty at the office but no
incident happened during the group's visit at 9 p.m. (jun/ylt)
