GRI's sales rise 20%

JAKARTA (JP): PT Great River International (GRI), a garment producer, announced yesterday that its sales rose 20 percent to Rp 212.9 billion (US$64.5 million) in the first three quarters of this year over the same period last year.

The company said the sales increase was due to the increase of its exports to other ASEAN countries and from its local sales of lingerie, T-shirts, casual wear, children clothes and jeans.

GRI also believed the increase was due to the expansion of its retail division to nine branches from two branches last year.

It expects to book about $100 million from exports next year, or about 70 percent of its revenue.

The company currently exports its products to 20 countries, under well-known brand names such as Triumph, Arrow, Disney, Cerutti, Kenzo, Pierre Cardin and Elle. (08)
