Grenade kills wandering farmer

BANDUNG, West Java: A farmer was accidentally killed by a grenade explosion when he entered a restricted military training area in Cipariuk, Lembang, West Java to gather grass.

A witness, Atang Supriadi, 14, said the explosion occurred shortly after 40-year-old Uwatman and three others entered the camp to cut grass for their livestock Wednesday.

Uwatman apparently sneaked into the restricted area where the grass is taller and greener.

Police are still investigating the incident, Antara reported.

The fate of the three others is not known. (09)
