Grenade found in Pasar Rebo

JAKARTA (JP): An active grenade was found on Sunday morning, hidden in the grounds of Lewa alley in Pekayon area of Pasar Rebo, East Jakarta, a police officer said.

East Jakarta police chief of detectives Adj. Comr. Agus Irianto said on Sunday that Pekayon residents of Pasar Rebo found the grenade while cleaning the grounds of the alley.

"The bomb squad were soon contacted. The squad arrived there, and secured the grenade... it is probably still in the Pasar Rebo police subprecinct. It was a very old grenade," Agus told The Jakarta Post. (ylt)
