Graphia to enter e-business

JAKARTA (JP): Publicly listed electronic equipment distributor
PT Astra Graphia (Agit) would soon join business to business e-
commerce, a company executive said on Wednesday.

Agit director of operation Paulus Bambang W.S. said the policy
was inevitable, considering the increasingly important role of
the Internet in today's business.

Agit, a subsidiary of the widely diversified Astra
International Group, would boost its growth through the
Internet's high accessibility to the global market, Paulus said.

"Agit could cooperate better with companies throughout the
world, and get in touch with buyers faster, " Paulus was quoted
as saying by news agency Antara.

However, he did not say how much the company planned to invest
in the project.

According to him, Agit was already cooperating with several
companies from neighboring countries like Malaysia to develop its
Internet existence. (bkm)
