Grants for needy religious students

TEGAL, Central Java: The Ministry of Religious Affairs, with the support of the Asia Development Bank, will present scholarships to 10,000 students from 3,000 madrasah, Islamic schools, over the next five-years.

The students, selected from impoverished families, will receive between Rp 120,000 and Rp 150,000 each.

Head of the subdirectorate of elementary religious schools, Mubarrok, said those students living in remote areas would also be presented with bicycles. (mds)
