Grandma busted for drug dealing

JAKARTA: Kokom Komariah, 41, a grandmother of one, was arrested by the Johar Baru Police in Tanah Tinggi, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday night for drug possession.

The police allegedly seized 46 packages of heroin hidden in the woman's bra, KompasCyberMedia reported on Thursday.

The suspect reportedly told police she purchased the drugs from a man she identified as Cak, who was already on the police's wanted list.

She said she bought the drugs for a total of Rp 450,000 and that she planned to sell each package for Rp 20,000.

"I sell heroin because my husband is an addict and cannot keep a job," Kokom said.

Johar Baru Police chief Comr. Gunawan said Kokom was arrested while attempting to sell the drugs.

"She can say anything ... from the manner in which she obtained the drugs, she could be part of a drug syndicate," he said. -- JP
