Graham to invest in Indonesia

JAKARTA: Communications software company Graham Technology is planning to invest in Indonesia by setting up a new flagship office in Jakarta and recruiting staff to man it.

In a press release to The Jakarta Post, the Scottish-based company said it would invest "hundreds of thousands of pounds".

Graham Technology chief technical officer Mike Hughes said the investment follows the substantial growth of Indonesia's cell phone service provider Telkomsel which is one of the company's biggest customers.

The company has been supplying software to Telkomsel for four years. Graham Technology's core software solution, GT-X, was first deployed in 1994. The software integrates all channels, such as contact centers, Internet, mobile technology, e-mail and interactive digital TV.

According to the firm, Telkomsel has placed a further order with Graham Technology for 500 seats, increasing the firm's GT-X operation to 1600 seats.

Hughes said the technology would enable Telkomsel to improve its call centers and to provide consistent customer service across Indonesia, as well as maintaining a single view of customer data.

The company already has bases in the UK, USA, Ireland, Continental Europe and Australia.--JP
