Graffiti

From Media Indonesia

The final examination results at Junior and Senior High
Schools have been announced. To express their excitement over the
happy occasion, it has long been the practice for graduates to
write graffiti on each other's school uniforms. Unfortunately
this graffiti-writing spreads to other locations outside schools;
bus stops, the walls along the streets and other strategic places
in the city.

Indeed, graduating is a great thrill. But it would be much
better if the wild excitement could be properly expressed.
Imagine, a great many school uniforms are damaged on the day when
the results of the final examinations are announced. It would be
much better for the clothes to be donated to the needy. And how
much "spidol" and "pilox" paint are wasted to make graffiti?

The following steps should be taken to end this practice.
The parents must be sure that their children do not bring any
writing materials to school on the graduation day. And the shop
owners should restrain from selling "pilox" spray to students on
that particular day. The examination results can also be mailed
to the students' homes.
