Govt urged to link BSD and airport

JAKARTA: Tangerang city and airport operator PT Angkasa Pura II want the central government to build a toll road connecting Bumi Serpong Damai (BSD) to the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.

City development board strategic planning head Dadang Durachman said the new road would ease heavy traffic along the existing Sedyatmo tollway, Tempointeraktif.com reported on Thursday.

The Jakarta Outer Ring Road (JORR) II project was feasible because the existing BSD toll road could still be expanded, Dadang said.

BSD was eligible for a toll road because the volume of traffic in the area had reached 40,000 vehicles per day, the minimum requirement, he said. -- JP
