Govt to renovate old mosque

BEKASI: The local administration will provide Rp 18 billion (some US$2 million) to renovate and enlarge the Al-Barkah Mosque located on Jl. Pramuka, which dates back to 1908.

The mosque will get an elevated entrance hall that should help prevent pedestrian traffic from backing up onto the road in front of the mosque, Bekasi Mayor Akhmad Zurfaih told Antara on Tuesday.

The renovation work is expected to begin in early June. --Antara
