Govt to disburse Olympic training fund
JAKARTA (JP): The National Sports Council (KONI) would receive Rp 4.2 billion (US$545,000) from the government next week to support the 2000 Olympic Games training program, said official in charge of planning and budgeting Togi Hutagaol on Friday.
"An official at the ministry of finance asked for KONI's savings account number this morning, but I don't know if the ministry will disburse all the Rp 4.2 billion."
KONI needs Rp 6.9 billion to finance its Olympic training program. It has received Rp 2 billion from the Gelora Senayan Management Board (BPGS) and the Rp 500 million surplus from the 1999 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games budget. It also received a contribution of Rp 1 billion from McDonald's Indonesia and $100,000 in cash and goods from PT Samsung Electronics Indonesia. (ivy)
