Governor urged to return assets

MATARAM, West Nusa Tenggara: The chief of the provincial prosecutor's office, R. Himawan, is calling on Governor Warsito to stop the sale of his official Volvo sedan and the provincial legislature's (DPRD) residence before the end of his term in August.

"I implore Governor Warsito to be open-minded and thoroughly consider the issue of his official Volvo sedan and the DPRD residence," Himawan told journalists here yesterday.

With less than three months before he ends his tenure as governor, the public has been focusing on Himawan's auctioning of his sedan and the residence.

As reported by Antara, students have been protesting the auction, which they say resulted in sales at below market prices.

Himawan said he was confident that Warsito would make the right decision and return the "provincial assets" to the administration.
