Governor, regent take a break

PURWOKERTO, Central Java: Central Java governor Mardiyanto and Banyumas regent Aris Setiono were given a rare opportunity to break their routine as jurors to determine the province's most beautiful woman on Thursday.

Seventy women are competing for the province's tourism representative and the winner will receive a ticket to Jakarta. They were selected from 35 regencies.

The grand final of the beauty pageant will be held on Saturday and will include tourist delegations from other provinces.

Spokesman for the Banyumas regency administration Didi Rudwianto said the participants will be judged for their beauty, intelligence and behavior.(45/dja)
